I am working on a school project. I was wondering what diseases, or health issues are related to genetics. Some I have thought of include osteoporosis, and breast cancer. Can anyone give me some specifics and some diseases/issues? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How do you feel afterward? Also how long ago did you have them put in and with which type of material is the implant made of? I am concerned that the metals that the dentist use will have a negative affect on my whole body. Is it hopeless to even consider implants if osteoporosis and periodontal disease are some things I am battling right now and will negatively affect the outcome of implants in the future?
I am a sophmore at Sleepy Hollow. I am taking a three year class where we pick a study and research the ndo experiments. I choose vitamin D. I want to prove that vitamin D helps decrease risks of cacner, diabetes, or osteoporosis. A mentor or someone to guide me would be very helpful. Also, it is required by the class to get one. Ezorb calcium supplements, sold by Elixir Industries,available in capsule or powder form, is supposed to be a somewhat of a miracle cure for all kinds of bone joint and muscle diseases…eg. arthritis, osteoporosis, degenerative disc disease, bone spurs, fibromialgia,bone fractures, nerve and muscle pain, and back pain.On their website there are many confirmed believers with testimonials as to its effectiveness but that’s par for the course. I need to hear some more results not published by the company itself.If you have any more information, positive or negative, I would sure appreciate it. I have numerous cervical bone spurs one of which is just touching the anterior spinal cord and am looking for a viable alternative to surgery. If anyone out there knows of any other options I might explore, I’m open to suggestions. My doctor wants to cut out the spurs and discs involved then fuse the area, using bone replacement etc. I prefer to stay the way the good Lord made me if possible.
In response to aaaime1…I have spoken to their medical staff rep but I just wanted to get input from the general public that may have used their product. They seem to be a reputable business, on the up and up …I am looking for the voice of experience with their product not coming from their website since as you might know obviously any company only publishes the positive about their product. Thanks for your input though, I’m specifically looking for a product that will dissolve bone spurs so as to avoid having them removed surgially!
I’ll just be sraight to the point with symptoms:
Horrible muscle pain (Not flu related)
Muscle stiffness & weakness
Easily lose control of walking ability, hands, and feet
High CRP & Sed rate
Negative ANA
Pain gets completely unbairable & requires E.R. visits
Started having reactions to laying out in sun about two years ago (eyes would swell shut & feel bad)
Had to stop laying out or using tanning bed
Hair loss
Vision changes
Trouble thinking and finding “the word I’m looking for” even if it is very simple (NO STUPID COMMENTS PLEASE)
Sometimes I’m thinking something and can’t get it to come out of my mouth.
Brain MRI showed some scarring (Equal to someone with severier migrains)
I do not have migrains
I do have T.N. facial pain sometimes
Thyroid is fine
Spinal MRI was O.K. (I have signs of DDD)
I have borderline Osteoporosis
I respond VERY well to Medrol/Prednisone but bad for bones.
I do not drink diet drinks.
I’m classic M.S. or Lupus but Rheumy says neg ANA!
I doubt Cancer, but the food allergy is something I have considered and will be tested for at next appt. Gluten, I know is one that does this. I’ve never heard of Porphyria but I’ll look it up.
If anyone has ever had restless leg syndrome you may understand a little of my pain. I get that feeling from head to toe. A lot of my problem is Fybro but my Rheumatologist, Othoepedic, Internest, & Neurologist think there is an underlying condition and want me to go to UAB in Birmingham because they don’t jnow what else to do. Al least they don’t think I’m just crazy! (not completely anyway!) LOL Gotta laugh a little right? I’vw had these problems for a while but were not this horrible until I had my son in May. Everything in my body has started going crazy since then!
I also have a slight redish rash on my face sometimes. I have small red spots on my hands and arms that get very bright when I’ve been in the sun. My face has gotten so bad a times it almost completely scabes over. (around my eyes, forehead, & cheeks)
My MIL has osteoporosis, arthritis, and is on .5 mg. steroids everyday.
She has experienced weight loss and recurring fever for the last few months, and an unexplained fluctuation in Hb levels. Has anyone else experienced this? An affirmative answer will mean a lot of relief at our end. Her dumb doctor never informed her that she has arthritis, just wrote it in her medical file. We just found out – 4 years later!
I know steroids are not indicated for either of these conditions, that is why i m mad at the doctor, but my family thinks i play doctor too much. Thanks for this confirmation.
The one related to breast cancer. I keep finding stuff on osteoporosis. I am 26, I don’t have to worry about osteoporosis, yet…. I don’t think. Anyway, any help you can provide would be tremendous. I need to know if it highly dangerous, treatment, survival rate etc….
