I’m only 23 and the doctor is mentioning osteoporosis to me..?

is this possible? It does run in the family my great grandma, and a great aunt both have it.. but I thought I was to young for something like this.

I broke my foot 6 months ago (the doctor calls it a lisfranc fracture) Im still having alot of pain with it, and its not healing like normal he says.
So is it really possible that osteoporosis could be showing up already in me?

It’s definitely a possibility, though an unlikelihood.

You need to drink milk, exercise daily and take vitamin D.

Not very likely unless you are on chronic steroid therapy.A Lisfranc fracture is not very common in a 23 yr old either.Do you have type 1 diabetes?

Yes it is highly possible for you to have it I was diagnosed with it during my 20’s and it isn’t a good thing to have so early in life but it happens it might not be as bad when you are younger but can get worse with age and if you do have it then you probably need to be on medication to help slow it down I am not sure it helps it but some claims it does while others say it just keeps it from getting as bad

    yep

Well, for females, osteoporosis is most frequently seen after passing the menopausa – which will in their 50`s normally. However, osteporosis might also appear earlier, as result of insufficient calsium-intake, or as a result of hormonal disturbances, as with calcitonin/PTH and so on.

You are still young…but you might have calcium deficiency. Bonemeal, sold in health food stores is the best supplement in my opinion. Because it has phosphorus and calcium.
